About Catherine E. McLean
I write "Women's Starscape Fiction"because I enjoy a story where characters are like real people facing real dilemmas, and where their journey (their adventure-quest, with or without a romance) is among the stars and solar systems, and where there's always a satisfying ending.
I am the author of KARMA AND MAYHEM, a Paranormal Fantasy Romance novel published in September 2012 by Soul Mate Publishing, www.soulmatepublishing.com. In November 2012, my futuristic/sci-fi adventure novel, JEWELS OF THE SKY was published.
Writing as C.E. McLean, my science-fiction, contemporary romance, and paranormal stories have sold to both hard-copy and online magazines and anthologies. Most recently, my short story "Adrada's Knot" was published by NOVA Science Fiction (November 2011). January through March 2011, my lighthearted, flash-fiction, science fiction short story "Just Desserts" was published by Golden Visions Magazine (the story can be read by clicking the "Just Desserts" tab).
Before turning to fiction, I was a journalist and spent eleven years as the editor of a regional specialty publication. Of two newsletters I edited, one garnered a national award. More than two dozen of my articles have been published on the craft of writing fiction, and I've given numerous workshops to writers both in person and online. I completed the rigorous Professional Writing Courses at the University of Oklahoma. I'm a member the online Yahoo group for Amazons, Fantasy Writing and Broad Universe as well as a member of RWA (Romance Writers of America) and its FF&P chapter.
PERSONAL INFORMATION: I reside on a farm in Western Pennsylvania where my husband and I raised and trained Morgan Sport Horses, garnering many riding and driving horse show championships but also a Reserve National Champion Competitive Trail Rider award. My husband and I share our rambling farmhouse with one opinionated cat that can't decide whether to be a house cat or an on-the-porch cat.
